You will find our main office directly at the valley station of the cable car (Hőssbahn). The main office is open daily during the winter season.

Intersport Pachleitner intersport-pachleitner.at

What to do if my private ski equipment is not up to date?
If guest are coming with old skis, not prepared skis or not adjusted binding, they can’t participate on course until they fix skis. Also if they paid, money will not be refunded. My kid is 4 years old what is the best to do?
The best is to book only 1 day with option of an extension (extension per day per kid costs 10€). If kid wants to ski next day/s then you can always extend, on the same day, with low risk. But if you book for 5 days and kid doesn’t want to ski after first day, or for any other reason, then we can’t do anything, we don’t give money back.
My child doesn't want anymore, what can I do?
To keep the “my child doesn’t want anymore” problem as low as possible, we recommend in advance to book only 1 day with the option of prolonging with an additional fee of 10€. If you overestimate your own children, it is your own fault and no amount will be refunded, also if somebody paid 3 or more days, and the child doesn’t want after the first day anymore.
Is the ski pass included in the course price?
The ski pass is not included in the course price! Info and prices for ski passes can be found at www.hiwu.at
Do beginners also need a ski pass?
Basically yes. At the Sunny Kids Park – our kids practice terrain – a ski pass is from the first day on necessary. To reach this Sunny Kids Park, Kids Arena, you need to take a cable car ride first and walk/ski down ca. 150m to the entrence of the kids area. Ski pass sortiments, combinations and prices you can find at www.hiwu.at
Why to book online / online shop?
While it was common to book all courses and equipment on the day of arrival on spot, we recommend to book ski- and snowboard courses right in time in advance. Also private lessons we recommend to reserve in advance. Like this you avoid the risk, not get a free spot for the courses or get no equipment, especially in the main season, not that we are booked out. Both sides benefit from the online booking, the Ski school for planning in advance and the guest cause of getting a fix slot and a discount. Further there is enough time to clear all possible questions to organize a perfect winter holiday.
What do we need to bring to the ski or snowboard course?
A complete set of ski or snowboard equipment, warm clothes, gloves, sun cream, we also recommend a helmet (obligatory for children up to 15 years).
What courses (skill level) do you offer?
We offer courses from beginners to good skiers / snowboarders. On the first day of the course you will be divided according to your current ability.
Do I also need to book in advance for group courses?
We generally recommend booking through our webshop. The earlier the better. This brings you a lot of advantages. There is usually always space in the group courses. In the holiday periods, however, we cannot guarantee that there will be free places on site without online booking.
Is there also a course on Saturday and Sunday?
There are no group courses on Saturdays and Sundays, except at Christmas / New Year, here the courses are fixed by the date, starting days are the 27th of December and the 2nd of January. We offer weekend courses, but on other terms than the regular courses.
Private lessons are of course also possible on Saturday and Sunday at any time on request.
Do I have to book a 5-day course directly?
In terms of price, our 5-day course is the cheapest offer. If you are unsure whether your child (from 4 years) likes skiing, you can book fewer days for the time being. If it works out well, you can simply rebook for the additional days + prolonging charge of 10€ in our office. Extending is possible – reducing is not possible, no money refund.
Do the ski course days have to be on consecutive days?
In principle, yes. It also makes sense to redeem the days consecutively, as the learning programme builds on each day. If the children / adults skip a day, this could result that they are not being able to keep up in the course, and this can cause to change groups, if there are any groups below (not always available).
Is it possible to join a course during the week?
Beginners’ courses start on Monday (on request on the other days.) It is not possible to give a beginner in the middle of the week to an already started group. Intermediate and advanced children can join a running course from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Do you also have foreign language ski instructors?
We have an international team of ski instructors. Most of the ski instructors speak German and English. We also have sometimes instructors who speak Dutch.
On request, other languages can also be considered for private lessons (Croatian, Dutch, Czech,…)
In which languages are the courses offered?
Group lessons are generally held in German or English. Other languages such as Dutch, Czech, Croatian, etc. are possible on early request, but can never be guaranteed.
Do I get my money back if I don't like the course I booked?
Basically, you only get your money back if you have a local doctor’s certificate (illness, injury). However, there are several offers (one day course, extension for a certain amount) to keep the “risk” for you as low as possible.
If, contrary to expectations, it still doesn’t work out, we offer the possibility to change your course to a private lesson. In this case, the difference of the still open course days will be credited, and in case of something is still missing, you need to pay the difference.
What is the minimum number of participants for a group course?
A minimum of 5 participants is required for a group course to be possible. If there are less than 5 participants, the group can be combined or the course time can be shortened accordingly. Private lessons can be taken and shared.
What happens in the event of an accident?
Course cards are personal and non-transferable. Redeemed course tickets will be refunded on a pro rata basis. The Wintersportschule Stodertal GmbH, Ski School Hinterstoder accepts no liability for any accidents.
Can I pay by credit card at the ski school office?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, EC card (Maestro) and cash.
Questions about the children's ski course

In general, lessons with a private instructor are possible at any time.
For children from 7 years we recommend our Cool Kids course (3 hours) from 10 – 13 0´clock.
For snowboard courses we have a minimum age of 8 years. The halfday course is 2 hours per day from 10 – 12 o´clock for kids from 4 years on until maximum 15 years.

Intersport Pachleitner intersport-pachleitner.at

How is the grouping done?
The children are primarily divided according to their skiing ability and age. If the children have approximately the same level, they can of course also ski in the same group. Just let us know on the first morning when we form the classes. We will try our best. Our teachers are always taking measure on the lower level kid.
Is it bad if I have entered or booked the wrong ski level?
Yes. The groups are all divided up at the assembly point. There they are asked again about their skills. After this questioning, you will be placed in the appropriate group course, the kids need to ski through a slalom where we see their technic. It is possible to change to another group without any problems. If your kid is in between 2 levels, always choose the lower one. The only problem can happen out of main season, when we have little groups. So it can happen on wrong booking, that we don´t have then the right group.
Can our children be in a group together?
Yes and no. The children are primarily divided according to their skiing ability and age. If the children have approximately the same level, they can of course also ski in the same group. Just let us know on the first morning when we form the classes.
We will try our best. Our teachers are always taking measure on the lower level kid.

When will the final race take place?
The ski race takes place on Friday mornings (except on Christmas, here are the races on 31st of December and 6th of January in the morning). The ski race is part of the lessons. Children who do not wish to actively participate in the ski race have the opportunity to watch. After the race the lessons take place as normal.
Afterwards, the award ceremony takes place at the respective assembly point, the kids park. Each child receives a certificate and a medal.

Do you offer lunchtime childcare?
No, since a couple of years we don´t offer lunch anymore.
Where can we pick up our child after class?
In principle, the meeting point is also the pick-up point, our meeting place up on the middle station, next to the entrence of the Sunny Kids Park. But if you are not sure – just ask your child’s ski instructor.
Is it necessary to book a 5-day course for children?
Pricewise the 5 day course is the cheapest offer. If you are not sure, if your kid (especially in age of 4-5 years beginner) doesn´t like skiing, then it is smarter to book little days, that’s why it is variable from 1 till 5 days bookable. After booking 1 day, and the kid likes it, you come until latest 13:30 at the same day in our office and prolong the course, we count the difference + 10€ prolonging charges. The teacher is also saying after the first 2 hours, if it makes sense to prolong or not. Our programme is built up over a week with ski races and prize-giving on Friday morning. Therefore it makes sense to stay in the course for the whole 5 days. However, it is of course also possible to attend a course for less days.
Does it make a difference in price whether I book a 3-day course first or a 5-day course immediately?
If the 5-day ticket is bought right at the beginning, there is a considerable price advantage.
If the first 3 days are bought individually (day by day), it is more expensive cause of the prolonging charge of 10€ per eyery time.
Do the ski course days have to be taken on consecutive days?
In principle, yes. It also makes sense to redeem the days consecutively, as the learning programme builds on each day. If the children/adults skip a day, this could result that they are not being able to keep up in the course, and this can cause to change groups, if there are any groups below (not always available).
What if my child is unwell or injured during the ski course?
The telephone number of a parent should be noted on the course card. Then we can call you if necessary. It is very important to check the number on mistakes, and don’t forget to add the country code before. Therefore it is important that you are reachable on your mobile phone.
